Here's What To Expect From Next Steps Groups

Students 2

Starting a new group might feel a bit daunting at first but we are with you every step of the way to help you settle in.

You'll find that:

  • Our groups are small. There's a maximum of 6 students in our groups
  • We're happy to show you round at a quiet time so you know what to expect
  • Our space is very different to a 'school'. Take a look around
  • We eat lots of biscuits and love a biscuit break
  • We don't have uniforms, you don't need a pencil case or a text book. Just bring yourself!
  • We're a mix of home ed families, those who've just left school, some on a school register but not attending and some still in school
  • Some of our subjects are for students who want to sit exams and some are just to meet other people who like the same things

All of our students were new at one point. They remember just how that felt so they're great at helping you feel welcome too!

If you're feeling worried or have questions we haven't answered please get in touch with an email or give us a call on 0330 460 3650. No question is too silly, too small, too irrelevant or too much. We want to hear from you and we welcome visits from families who are just exploring options.

Upcoming Socials

🤩 We're so happy to be welcoming students to our new social group taster sessions this November and December!

Email Hilary 👉 hello@nextstepstutors.com for more details or to book a FREE place for your young person.

Our Social groups are supported by The Bideford Bridge Trust. Thanks to the trust for backing the students in our community! 👋 Our social groups aim to build confidence for students who struggle with anxiety around socialising. We provide an opportunity for young people in our community to be around like minded students, where they can be part of an activity and be themselves with the support of our tutors and mentors experienced with Neurodivergent and anxious students. It's a great chance for students to engage in an activity where there’s no assessment, just enjoyment!
